He was a longtime resident of Stamford, before moving to Rancho Mirage, where he lived for 12 years.

Mr. Monk is survived by his wife of 62 years, Audrey Marsh Monk-two daughters, Meredith Monk of New Yorknd Tracy Monk Durland of Ojo Sarco, N.M.; a sister and a brother, Marilyn Beckwith of Locust, N.J., and Gilbert F. Monk of Roslyn Heights, and four grandchildren. Services will be at 4 30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Wief els and Son Mortuary in Palm Springs.
