Gladys Y. Murray, 88 Gladys Y. Murray, 88, died Od 4, 1998, at Scholwalter Villa in He8 ston, Kan. after a lengthy illness. She was born June 30, 1910, to Aurthur and Jenny Youngs in Fall brook.

She married William Murray on Nov. 13, 1929, in Hollywood. She opened three businesses in 1932 after moving to Palm Springs with her husband: Murray's Mar ket, Murray's Court and the Wagon Wheel Cafe. She and her husband had the government contract to feed the troops from the local base during World War II. She is survived by three daughters, Neva Buresh of Cathedral City, Trudie Hagerman of Augusta, Pat Busby of Salem, 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Bill Murray Sr. and two sons, Bill Jr. and Tom. Graveside services were held in Hesston, Kan. Arrangements were under the direction of Millers Funeral Home in Hesston, Kan.

The family suggests donations be made to Scholwalter Villa Nursing Center and Retirement Home, P.O.Box 5000, Hesston, 67062. Anne Alma Trimboli, 77 Anne Alma Trimboli, 77, of Sky Valley, died Sept. 30, 1998, at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. She was born Aug. 30, 1921, to Edward David and Mattie Marie Davis Holloway, in El Reno, Okla.

Police briefly Authorities find meth lab, arrest two YUCCA VALLEY A traffic stop led authorities to what they said is a methamphetamine lab and resulted in the arrests Thursday of two Yucca Valley residents, San Bernardino County sheriffs deputies said. Stephen Smiley was arrested after deputies pulled his car over on Avalon about 3:50 p.m. Thursday for a vehicle-code violation, according to the Sheriffs Department Deputies said they found drugs inside the car and got a search warrant for Smiley's home in the 55-000 block of Coyote Trail. There they found what they believe to be a methamphetamine lab.

Miranda Azaeta was at the home during the raid and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, deputies said. She was booked into the Mo-rongo Basin Jail in Joshua Tree and held on $500,000 bail. Smiley was booked into the jail on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance for sales, and possession of a controlled substance. His bail was $600,000. Two in custody after McDonald's robbed INDIO Two men remained in jail Friday after being arrested on suspicion of robbing a fast-food restaurant last week.

German Fierro Nieblas of Coachella and Jose Antonio Romero of Indio were arrested Thursday on suspicion of robbing the McDonald's on Highway 111 early on Sept 28, police said. He married Delma L. Shaw on Nov. 17, 1942, in Anderson, S.C. He worked for Indian Palms Country Club for 15 years before retiring. He served in the U.S.

Air Force for 12 years in the Counterintelligence Corps. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dellis Anne Dunn of Indio; and one grandchild. Josephine Lenilda Lucas-Lekousis, 92 Josephine "Jo" Lenilda Lucas-Lekousis, 92, of Cathedral City died Oct 6, 1998, in Loma Linda. She was born July 15, 1906, to John and Julia Pisano Iguessa, in Easthaven, Conn.

She married Peter Lekousis Sr. in 1933 in Newhaven, Conn. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation, Ladies Guild of St. Louis Catholic Church, Eastern Star and a member of the Cathedral City Senior Center.

Survivors include two sons, Ted Lucas of Walla Walla, and Peter Lekousis Jr. of Lake Arrowhead; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am. with a service at 10:30 a.m.

He was born May 2, 1917, to Henry and Elizabeth Wingrich Runge, in Illinois. He was a project engineer for VP. Electronic Co. Mr. Runge served in the U.S.

Army and Marine Corps during World War H. He was the former president of Palm Desert Greens Golf Club and was active with the Indio Date Festival. Survivors include a sister, Donna Dillon of Hawthorne; a stepson, Gary Hakes; and five stepgrand-children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Richard George Schommer, 70, of Indian Wells, died Oct. 7, 1998, at Rancho Mirage Healthcare. He was born Aug. 31, 1928, to George M. and Elda Schwamer Schommer, in Appleton, Wis.

He married Nancy Thrasher White on March 23, 1928, in San Francisco. Mr. Schommer worked in sales and marketing management with Rexnord Corp. in Milwaukee for 30 years. He served in the U.S.

Army for two years. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Agricultural Engineers, various civic organizations, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Services and burial will be held in Palatine, 111. Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuaries in Cathedral City.

Norene A. Hoerman, 85 Norene A. Hoerman, 85, of Palm Desert, died Oct 6, 1998, in Walnut Creek. She was born June 8, 1913, to Otho G. and Ellen Tinsley Baynes in Rockport, Ky.

She married William Hoerman on Feb. 25, 1943. She was a waitress for The Gourmet in Hollywood for 30 years. Survivors include two sisters, Bernadine Batugo of Lafayette and Betty Campbell of Westminister. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997.

Avlla, 75 John R. Avila, 75, of Coachella, died Oct 8, 1998, at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was born June 27, 1923, to Juan and Maria Reyes Avila in ElModena. Mr. Avila was a drill operator for Kaiser Steel for 18 years.

He was a member of Sociedad Progresista of Coachella Lodge No. 63, and was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 12 in Los Angeles. Survivors include a son, Javier, six daughters, Bertha Avila Job-bagy of West Covina, Mary Esther Gil of Indio, Sandra Lopez of Indio, Leticia Herrera of Coachella, Mag-dalena Hoy of La Quinta and Am-parto Munoz of Coachella; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Adolph of Mountain Center and Edward of Palm Desert; and four sisters, Esther Acosta of Indio, Betty Jaramil-lo of Idaho, Ruth Porras of Menefee and Katie Hernandez of Coachella.
