Moscato, 76 Charlotte Gahafer, 73 OBITUARIES Top secret information Charlotte Anne Gahafer, 73, of Cathedral City died May 25, 1996, at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. She was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Sterling, to Leora Kathleen Barbara Jane Lareau Dorn, 71, of Palm Desert died May 22, 1996, at home. She was born May 14, 1925, in Evanston, 111., to Virginia Alcott and N.J.

Lareau. She had been employed as a real, estate broker in Hawaii and California since 1966. She also was co-owner and developer of Hawaii Fitzsimons and Carl John Ottele. She was an aircraft worker for McDonnell-Douglas. Survivors include her mother, Leora Ottele of Cathedral City; a sister, Bettye Cotton of Palm Springs; a daughter; and three grandchildren.

Private services are under the direction of Wiefels and Son Funeral Home in Palm Springs. Resort Land Investment Royal Hawaiian Estates and five other companies. Moscato was a homemaker. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary and of the Soroptimists in Twentynine Palms. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Moscato of Desert Hot Springs and Jerry Moscato of Twentynine Palms; and three sisters, Jenny D'Arco of Riverside, Connie Tam-burro of Granada Hills and Ula Valmassei of Monroe, Mich. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Montecito Memorial Park in Loma Linda.

Arrangements are under the direction of Palm Springs Mortuary in Cathedral City. Shirley E. McCoy, 78 Shirley E. McCoy, 78, of Palm Desert died May 28, 1996, at Eisen-: hower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage. She was born May 20, 1918, in Pittsburgh to Alma and Shirley Jackson.

She married John McCoy on May 18, 1935, in Buffalo, N.Y. A 40-year Coachella Valley resident, Mrs. McCoy was a self-employed nurse's aide for 20 years. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John McCoy of Palm Desert; two daughters, Sandra Un-terein of Indio and Sharon L. McCoy of Shelby, N.C.; a son, Patrick B.

She was a longtime member of the Outrigger Canoe Club in Honolulu and an active member of Shadow Mountain Golf Course, where she served as tournament chairwoman from 1994-96 and was in charge of "The Niners" and "Shady Lady" events. She resided in Southern California from 1953-1966 and then moved to Honolulu. In 1979 she returned to California and lived in Newport Beach.

For the past nine years she divided her time between Palm Desert and Honolulu. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Andreasen of Northridge and Jamie Tosoonian of Tustin; an uncle; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Jo Dorr, and her parents. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at St.

16, 1905, in Germany to Emma Leprecht and Heineman Weinberg. He married Berta Rosenberg in 1935 in Germany. She preceded him in death. He retired after 35 years as a supervisor for Comfy Manufactur-ing Co. in Baltimore.

A former Palm Springs resident, Mr. Weinberg was a member of Temple Isaiah of Palm Springs and of the Tiferet Israel in San Diego. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Winer, a sister, Malwina Katz of New York; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Services will be held at noon loday at Glasband-Willen Chapel in JVest Hollywood. Burial will be at Carmel Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

Remus Franklin Brady, 91 Remus Franklin Brady, 91, of Indio died May 25, 1996, at Greater El Monte Hospital in El Monte. He was born May 22, 1905, in Sugarcreek, Ohio, to Edith Beechy and Frank Brady. A 15-year Indio resident, Mr. Brady was vice president for the J.M. Smucker Co.

for 36 years. Survivors include two sons, Lyle Brady of San Dimas and Lemoyne Brady of Oregon City, a brother, Leroy Brady of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella. frank Davis, 71 Frank Davis, 71, of Cathedral City died May 21, 1996, at home.

He was born June 14, 1924, in Tucson, to Mary Gracida and John Davis. He married Beatriz Yslas on 13, 1969, in Nevada. A 30-year Cathedral City resident, Mr. Davis retired as a custom Jiouse painter. He served with the U.S.

Navy for 11 years. I Survivors include three sons, Frank Davis Jr. of Arizona, Joe Davis of Oklahoma and Tony Yslas of Indio; a daughter, Irene Pesqueira of Tucson; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatriz, in 1993. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m.

Vincent Fronza, 70 Vincent Lawrence Fronza, 70, of Palm Springs died May 23, 1996, at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. He was born May 25, 1925, in Pottsville, to Ella Lazzaretti and Leno Fronza.

A 20-year Palm Springs resident, Mr. Fronza was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. He served with the U.S. Army for four years.

Ernest Schwanderr77 Ernest W. Schwander, 77, of Indio died May 25, 1996, in Rancho Mirage. He was born Sept. 1, 1918, in Lodz Poland, to Marie Goltz and Adolf Schwander. He married Maria L.

Trebol on May 30, 1984, in Camarillo. He was an engineer. After retirement, he was a fish farmer in Niland for many years. Survivors include his wife, Maria L. Schwander of Indio; and a brother, Benno Schwander Sr.

of Canada. Visitation will be held 4 p.m.-8 p.m. today at FitzHenry Funeral Home in Indio. A rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Services will be held at 1p.m.

McGuinness, Officiating Ruth Florence Scott, 81 Ruth Florence Scott, 81, of Boulder, died May 11, 1996, at home. She was born Nov. 28, 1914, in Johnstown, to Gertrude Florence Ashton Booser and Herbert Leo Booser.

She married Russell Richard Jones dh Aug. 24, 1935, in South Gate and Franklin Charles Scott on July 28, 1946. She was a secretary at the Todd Shipyard in Los Angeles during World War II. In January 1945, she christened the Liberty ship SS Russell R. Jones at its launch in Galveston, Texas.

She continued working as a secretary until she retired as a medical secretary at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs in 1984. She was raised in South Gate and was in the first graduating class of South Gate High School in 1933. She lived there until 1962. She was active in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Desert during her residence in Palm Springs. She moved to Boulder from Palm Springs in 1993.

Survivors include a son, Richard Michael Jones of Boulder, three stepsons, Philip Brown Scott and Donald Drew Scott, both of San Pedro, and Franklin Charles Scott Jr. of San Diego; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell, on July 5, 1942, and Franklin on Feb. 12, 1978; and a stepson, Charles Wheeler Scott, in May 1995. A memorial service will be held at noon June 9 at Unitarian Univer- salist Fellowship of the Desert, Joslyn Cove Community Senior Center, 73-750 Catalina Way, in Palm Desert.
