She died in Monday in Coachella. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at FitzHenry Funeral Home in Indio. Mrs. Schwartz was born in Kansas.

Survivors include her son, Neil Purdie of Rialto, and a brother, John Jennings of Amarillo, Texas. Burial will be at Coachella Valley Cemetery. Bennett Private services and burial were held for Klaire M. Bennett, 84, of Palm Springs. She died Saturday at Care West Palm Springs.

Mrs. Bennett was born in Palouse, and lived here three years. Survivors include her husband, Erie; a daughter, Delores Coleman of Palm Springs; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Desert Hospital Auxiliary in Palm Springs. A Pacific storm pushed inland today, spreading snow, rain and high winds, while snow was scattered across the Midwest and low temperatures prevailed across the East. Rain, with snow in the mountains, extended from southern California to Oregon and Washington.

Elsewhere, snow was scattered from the southern Appalachians across the Ohio Valley to the Great Lakes. Snow was mixed with freezing drizzle in southern Michigan and northern Indiana. Low temperatures held their grip on the eastern half of the nation, with early: morning readings from 11 degrees below zero to the single digits common from the middle Atlantic Coast region across upstate New York to northern New England. Temperatures dipped into the 20s to 30s in the Southeast. The Pacific storm prompted a heavy snow warning for the Cascade and Siskiyou mountains of western Oregon.

Travelers' advisories were issued for the Cascade and Olympic mountains of western Washington and high wind warnings were posted for the northern Pacific Coast. Winter storm warnings for heavy snow and gusty winds were issued for northern California's Sierra Nevada and Shasta Siskiyou mountains and for the mountains of west central Nevada, Western storm heads to East; Florida farmers on alert The Associated Press A powerful Western storm packing snow and 70 mph gusts headed toward the frigid, snow-fatigued East today as Florida farmers tried with to protect their crops from a big chill and schools in three states remained closed. Macavinta of West Covina and Ossil V. Macavinta of Palm Springs; a daughter, Loveta M. Del Rosario of Fontana, and three grandchildren. Burial was at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City. Schoney Services for Rex J.

Schoney, 59, of Palm Springs were held today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Palm Desert. Mr. Schoney, a landscaper for 19 years, died Friday at Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe. He was born in Orem, Utah, and lived here for 19 years.
