Daryl Lynn Hammons, 51 Daryl Lynn Hammons, 51, of Indio died July 29, 1997, at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

He was born Oct. 7, 1945, to Icie Graham-Hammons and Herman Lloyd Hammons in Indio. He married Millie Papan-Ham-mons on Jan. 11, 1969, in Indio. Mr.

Hammons was superintendent of irrigation at Coachella Valley Water District in Coachella for 31 years, and retired in June 1996. He served in the U.S. Army 1965-1968. He was a volunteer teacher for hunter safety classes in the valley. Survivors include his wife, Millie Hammons of Indio; a son, Michael Hammons of Eagle Mountain; a daughter, Karrie Hammons of Indio; a brother, Ralph Hammons of Indio; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Carolyn Weakley in 1992, and Billie Hammons in 1997. Arrangements are under the direction of FitzHenry Funeral Home in Indio.
